Our SXSoWhat show, "Nashville's Worst Nightmare I", at the Carousel last year was considered by many to be one of the best shows of notSxSW2005! This year, we've changed venues and will be at  Brentwood Tavern, 6701 Burnet Rd., about 1mile north of Ginny's Little Longhorn, at the west end of the Farmer's Market. It's a great outdoor venue with food, a good stage, good neighborhood, GREAT parking (that had become the big problem with The Carousel.) And, as you may know, Austin is now NON-SMOKING... It's only allowed at outdoor venues, so if you're a smoker, this is the place for you! And, of course, it's free... Well, you will be shaken down for tips on a regular basis... But you don't need no danged badges or wristbands.

The show is Friday, March 17th, 5pm-10:30pm:

5:00-Sunny Sweeney Band (www.myspace.com/sunnysweeney)
Country -- Sunny's voice is somewhere between Dolly and Tanya... She has a great new CD produced by steeler, Tommy Detamore... Take a listen on her myspace site -- I think you'll hear what all the commotion is about!

5:30- Teri Joyce and the Tagalongs (www.terijoyce.com)
Country singer-songwriter... this is the little gal who wrote "Blue Tatoo" recorded by Marti Brom... Her songs have also been recorded by Roger Wallace, Ted Roddy, Susanna Van Tassel, Dee Lannon and others.

6:00- Twangzilla (www.twangzilla.net)
Bluegrass -- I haven't heard 'em, but I've heard great things about them and the cuts on their web site sound really great!

6:30-Ted Roddy & the Original Tearjoint Troubadours (www.tedroddy.com)
Countrypolitan -- Ted Roddy is one of Austin's top country singers, and harmonica players. He's an Austin Chronicle Hall of Famer, and his harp has been featured on many records by artist ranging from Dave Alvin to Jello Biafra! He's re-assembled the Original Tearjoint Troubadors for this one gig.

7:00-Brennen Leigh (www.brennenleigh.com)
High and Lonesome... Brennen is a great mandolin player, with a great voice. Once again, take a listen to the samples on the web site and you'll be a believer!

7:30- The Hummingbirds (Susanna Van Tassel, Karen Poston & Jim Stringer) (www.texashummingbirds.com)
Family Singing... The group formed during a joint tour of Europe in 2003 and since has regularly since, appearing at The Grand Ol' Opry Plaza in the summer of 2005.

8:00- T Jarrod Trio
B-Hee B-Haw-p Jazz... A little like the Nat "King" Cole trio, featuring Ernest Tubb. T Jarrod Bonta is a stellar piano player and has been featured performer with dozens of bands on stage and on record, including Johnny Bush, Cornell Hurd, Marti Brom and others.

8:30- Karen Poston & the Crystal Pistols w/ Brennen Leigh (www.karenposton.com)
Country... Singer-songwriter Poston is responsible for Slaid Cleaves' should-a-been-a-hit, "Lydia". You can hear her original version as well as several more of her great tunes along with her hot rockin' band.

9:00- Jim Stringer & the AM Band (www.austinmusicband.com)
Country... The original AM Band celebrates it's Eight Year Anniversary in March... After three CD's, hundreds of gigs, still fresh and expanding the 500 song plus repertoire.

9:30- Roger Wallace (www.rogerwallace.com)
Country -- Roger Wallace is one of Austin's best country crooners, and a great songwriter too boot. His three CD's have been cornerstones of Austin Honky-tonk and a fourth is on the way.

10:00-The Grassy Knoll Boys (www.grassyknollboys.com)
Totally acoustic bluegrass -- since Austin's infamous noise ordinance precludes amps after 10pm. A classic bluegrass quintet with tight 3-part harmonies, and an edgy repertoire.

I can't think of anyplace else in town where you'll get such a great dose of Austin music in such a short time...
